WELDED STEEL
When creating my welded steel sculpture, I work in the constructivist manner. Using negative space establishes lightness in a medium that inherently appears dense and heavy. Using found objects also creates a lightness of feeling, as I create thought and feeling into a visual experience. For instance, doorways and passageways symbolize the choices each of us has as we go through life, thus creating and being responsible for our own experiences.
* 'The Matriarch' is my version of a family tree. Circle and curves are female and lines are male. 'The Matriarch' is at the head of the family, with her four children, and then each of their children - 3 generations. I would love to do your family tree.
